No Baths

I have two close friends who take baths almost every night, but I never take baths. Who has the time? Then again, my friends would probably say, Who has the time not to? After a recent conversation with a gal from church about Epsom salt - or is it salts? - I am open to that possibility. Otherwise, my bathtub will continue to be used as a closet.

I don’t agree with the Nordic idea about no weather being bad, but I do know wearing the right clothes makes dealing with the bad weather easier. After three rainy Fridays in a row, followed by a rainy Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and possibly Thursday this week, I am reminded again of how little I can control.

October 17, 2017 was my first day writing in my one-sentence journal based on The Happiness Project. Now that a year has passed, how interesting it will be, with each new entry I write, to read and remember the little thing I wrote down on the same date the previous year. I don’t want to get older, but if I have to, I at least want to do it aware and awake.

In recent days, I have had a few good conversations about writing and the idea of simply showing up to do the work one has been given to do. Coupled with my current reading of Grit by Angela Duckworth, I feel motivated and inspired. It's a good feeling to have heading into fall and a new school year and a couple days to myself each week on the horizon.
